Processing data

Crown Translations only provides B2B-services. I do NOT work for private individuals. In order to provide you with my services, I only process the following data:

  • Your name and the name of your business
  • Your business address
  • Your business email address or the general email adress of your business
  • Your business phone number or the general phone number of your business

According to the GDPR, personal data “means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person”. So, from the data I collect, only your own name, your business email address and your business phone number are personal data.

Legal basis for processing these data

I need this data for performing contracts, in order to comply with legal obligations, or to satisfy legitimate interests. For example:
– I am required by law to retain invoices for seven years;
– I need to keep the business email address of a customer in order to perform a contract.

Automatic processing

Your data are not processed automatically. I will manually process your data and will do so personally.

I retain your data as long as we maintain a business relationship, but at least for as long as is legally required. If you have indicated that you no longer wish to use my services, I will destroy your data, unless I am not allowed to do so by law or if I need it for legal proceedings.

Data storage

Your data is stored on my computer and on one back-up disk. These are properly secured using a firewal and commercial antivirus software. I am the only person who has access to this computer and back-up disk.

Accessing or changing data

You can always contact me if you have questions about my privacy policy of if you want to access or change your data. I will respond as quickly as is feasible for me – usually the same day or the next, unless in case of a weekend, vacation, period of illness or another form of absence.

Deleting data

At any time, you can ask me to delete your data. I will comply with your request as soon as I can – usually the same day or the next, unless in case of a weekend, vacation, period of illness or another form of absence. However, I will not be able to carry out any more assignments for you. When I delete your data depends on certain legal requirements. For example, if I did an assignment for you, but did not yet report the earnings from it to the tax authorities, or if the tax assessment for the year in which I carried out the assignment is not yet final. In the meantime, however, I will no longer process your data, other than for the relevant legal purpose.

Transferring data

If you want to switch to another supplier, you can ask me to provide you with all the information that I have about you so that you can take it to that new supplier. However, this does not apply to any translations that I have kept; these are not transferred.

Retracting permission

You can withdraw your consent to the processing of your data at any given time. However, I will not be able to carry out any more assignments for you. I will destroy your data immediately, unless I am not allowed to do so by law or if I need it for legal proceedings.

If you do not agree with the way in which I handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with me. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch national supervisory authority, the ‘Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens’.
